Bubbl.us Projects for Walk Two Moons

Projects are due Wednesday, Feb. 25.

To create your Bubbl.us:

• Go to the Bubble.us website.  There is no 'e' in Bubbl.us.
• Hit the start brainstorming button.
• First create an account in case you need to save your work.
• Sign-in
• Create your web.  Your web should:
• have separate bubbles for characters and quotes
• have about ten characters/quotes
• use color to group the bubbles in ways that make sense
• be free of spelling and capitalization errors.
• You can write on the connecting lines, too.
• It's better to include page numbers.

To print your Bubbl.us project you can just press print.  If the left side is cut off try exporting your project to your desktop. To do this press "Export" in the top left section of the Bubbl.us screen.  After you have exported your Bubbl.us, open it and print it as you would a picture.

Be sure to put a full heading on the front of your Bubbl.us project. You may write this in pen or pencil.

This is a 70% project since it includes reading an entire book.

Japan Geo Challenge

Write Your Name in Chinese

This is a history assignment due this Friday.

Write your name in Chinese characters.  Use the small strip of paper I gave you in class today.  These will be posted in the classroom so make them look good.  Use color, markers, paint, whatever you like to make a good looking product.

Current Homework

Here is the homework for the first week of December for all of my classes.
 

1. Read 150 pages for Friday's Reading Race
2. Complete your Latin Root book.  See me during lunch if you need to review the word list because you have lost yours.  Due Tuesday, December 9.
3. Type up a new draft of your Hugo essay.  Use MLA format. Follow the directions that were handed out in class today or use this website.   The website contains directions and a sample page. It may be easiest to use the sample page.  Papers not in MLA format will have to be reprinted. Due Friday.

Crusader Trading Cards Mini-research Project

Crusader Trading Cards

A mini-research project

Directions:  Create four trading cards about the Crusades.

Steps:  

1. Read History Alive chapter 11 pages 119-126.
2. Select four people from the lists below.  Select two from list A and two from list B.
3. Do some research into each of the four people selected. For this project, Wikipedia is probably the best place to go.  You may also use your history book.
4. Find out these things about each person: home country or place of birth; date of birth; date of death;  religion;  one major reason they were  important  during the Crusades.
5. Use your research to create a trading card about each person.  All four should fit onto a single piece of paper.   (You can divide your paper by using the columns feature.)  Your cards should all have the same format.   Include a picture or a symbol on each card.  You may use borders and other artwork.  ( An example is done below.)
6. Create a rough draft in class.  
7. Create a final (typed) draft at home or in the library.
